This is a schedule of all the things I need to create in preparation for my magazine. By creating this it allowed me to keep on task with what I had to do and not miss out any parts that are key to my final piece. This allowed me to clearly focus on each task as they came and complete them to the best of my ability.

Double Page Spread First Draft

This is my first attempt at a double page spread which I am very happy with, It will come at the beginning of my article followed by several other double pages. I think that I have created this to a professional standard first time and don't intend to do many improvements to it however I will still be getting it peer assessed in case there is anything I have missed out.

Magazine Front Cover Draft

This is a first draft that I made up quickly this evening. I am actually very happy with it and think it looks reasonably professional and now I can looks for improvements and hope to make it better. The sell lines need the most work in my opinion but I am very happy with the image and button.

Florence and the
Machine

In my research it has come apparent to me that several other female Indie singers have given themselves a more ‘Indie’ sounding name and made it more into a band. Two main artists who have done this are ‘Florence and the Machine’ and ‘Marina and the Diamonds’. The ‘and the’ followed by a noun representing the backing band has been portrayed as an Indie style and therefore I have decided to give the artist my main article is on a similar name. To do this I took my models actual name (Georgina) as this was a name I like and felt sounded right and then brainstormed different nouns to company it with ‘and the’. I finally came down to two names I felt where fitting and representative of the genre. These were ‘Georgina and the Sparrows’ and ‘Georgina and the Eskimos’. Personally I felt that ‘Sparrows’ was a better option but to be sure I took a quick poll among several people fitting my target audience. The results came back with ‘Sparrows’ on top so therefor this is the one I’m going with.

Sell Line Ideas

These are some sell lines that I came up with for my magazine. By coming up with these before I start production on my magazine it has allowed me to have a clear idea of what I am doing. This stops time wasting when it comes to the design stage as I already know what I have to input into the magazine.

Contact Sheets

Due to having trouble with my photoshoot slideshows I have now created contact sheets for my photos. These show all the photos I have taken accross my three photo shoots. It is important to take plenty of photos as a large number of them will not be up to the standard of my magaznie. Therefor this gives me more to work with and allows me to pick out the photos taken to the best of my ability.
